How To Get Traffic to Your Business

I need help in with my business! I have been in the carpet cleaning business for 22 years and have NEVER seen my customer calls so low. Can anybody who has a business share any tips that would help to get potential customers in this bad economy.

I have tried PPC’s door to door flyers knocking on business doors and many other strategies.

with your advertisements, like flyer’s…you MUST have an incentive or promotion.

"awareness" advertising is really ineffective. "Build it and they will come"…sure…but Invite them and they will come quicker and more often.

The thing about giving discounts…people feel like they are losing money by doing that…no…you are creating sales that wouldn’t have otherwise existed on their own….so even at a discount its positive revenue.

Plus..once you get that discounted sale…your job is to keep that customer….what is their value to you over 10 years?

      Allot of money.

That is why you do ANYTHING to initiate that first step in the business relationship.

Online advertising is useful..but it does have one, sometimes lethal, drawback…your advertising just sits there and waits for people to search for it.

Flyers can be usefull..but again..they must have a promo..and they must look professional.

As mentioned by another….relationships with realtors! …you may benefit from adding an educational element to your flyers as well.

Why do homes sell quicker with a clean carpet?
Why do clean businesses get more repeat customers?

      Good Luck to you.

Times are tough, even in the cleaning business. I clean small offices, which seems to be pretty stable, but my friends in the larger commercial cleaning area and in residential have seen a drop off.
If I were you, I’d target places that having a clean carpet matters…restaurants, doctor’s and dentist’s offices, gyms, funeral homes…you get the picture.
Go in, notice if their carpet is dirty, say "looks like you could use a carpet cleaning! And i have a special running right now" Whether you do or not.

Also, contact realtors, property managers and leasing agents.

Hope this helps…don’t give up, keep forging forward!
